Get ready for the lifting of restrictions and summer traffic

It certainly is a different market out there then some time ago, but we are seeing some positive signs with ResortBrokers agreeing 15 new deals nationally since the start of March and actually settling successfully 33 sales since the pandemic started, so that's around $70 million worth of sales that we've still been able to achieve during this tricky time.

There's some positive signs that the buyers are still out there. There are deals getting transacted and by using the right people you can certainly get the right result. Obviously, since the pandemic started the amount of information that vendors, if you're considering going to market, you need to think about what sort of information you're going to provide to your buyers to get the best possible results.

So more so than ever you'll need to look at historical P&Ls, making sure you've got a forward projection of what lies ahead and I highly recommend getting a valuation done on your real estate so that you're providing as much information to the buyer as you possibly can, to get the best result. With regards to short term, there's a little bit longer to go, but we're certainly seeing positive signs with some easing of restrictions. Definitely the local-drive market will return and come back strong when the borders are open, as well as school holidays kick in.

Let's hope we get a great run into summer. I guess what you can do right now is stay positive, keep communicating with your owners, make improvements to your business as best you can during this time so that you're really ready for when the local tourist market returns to make the most out of those opportunities.
