Acquisition of management rights for Royal Albert Hotel — ResortBrokers
Belmo Group has acquired the management rights to the iconic Royal Albert Hotel in Brisbane’s CBD in an off-market transaction through ResortBrokers’ Director Alex Cook and Brisbane broker Jessie Shi.
One of the River City’s most historically significant properties, Royal Albert is a landmark, nine-storey building dating from 1913. Since 1996, the property has operated as a leading CBD boutique hotel with 73 rooms.
Belmo Group has made a name for itself in recent years with several high-end management rights acquisitions in South East Queensland.
ResortBrokers transacted the group’s off-the-plan purchase of the 135-apartment Quay and 124-apartment Isle, which are part of Mirvac’s $1 billion Waterfront Newstead precinct in Brisbane, and the 46-apartment Oceans Mooloolaba, the only AAA-rated five-star resort in Mooloolaba, which set a new record for a Sunshine Coast management rights when it sold in 2023.
“Royal Albert is another astute acquisition by Belmo Group, one of the best operators in the business,” ResortBrokers’ Director Alex Cook told The Hotel Conversation.
“Brisbane’s star is rising with huge population growth and growing visitor numbers, a trend set to continue over the next decade as we head towards the 2032 Olympics.”
“Royal Albert’s prime CBD location, high room quality and flexible configurations, ensure consistently high demand. The property is right in the heart of the CBD and is exceptionally well connected, being just steps from the new Albert Street station, part of the Cross River Rail opening later this year.”
“ResortBrokers discreetly presented the management rights to Royal Albert to 10 qualified buyers, including some of Brisbane’s most prominent operators,” ResortBrokers’ Brisbane agent Jessie Shi told The Hotel Conversation
“We’re delighted Belmo Group emerged as the successful party and have every confidence they will continue the legacy of this grand building in this next chapter of its storied life.” END
