Alice Springs G’Day Mate Tourist Park hits the market for just over half a million dollars
A mixture of locals and interstate investors are eyeing an Alice Springs caravan park, which has hit the market for just over half a million dollars.
G’Day Mate Tourist Park, tucked away south of the CBD on Palm Circuit, has been listed for $530,000 by Australian accommodation property agency ResortBrokers.
SA and NT senior specialist accommodation broker Kelli Crouch is handling the sale and said current proprietors Bill and Linda Wilcox are looking to sell up after running the park for seven years.
“They’ve made the most of the post-Covid travel demand and are now ready for their next chapter which involves moving interstate to be with family,” she said.
The park, located right next to the Alice Springs Brewery, has 127 sites, a swimming pool, communal barbecue area, laundry and amenities blocks, and a three-bedroom residence – with its own private pool – for the new owners to move into.
The sale has attracted interested parties from right across the country, Ms Crouch said.
“I’ve had almost 70 inquiries so far, which shows really strong demand,” she said.
“Interest has come from a mix of local Alice Springs business owners and buyers from interstate.
“I’m hearing from people who already have experience running parks, as well as those looking to make their first move into the industry.”
The park has 11 cabins, 19 permanent residents on sites, 70 powered sites, and 20 unpowered sites.
An additional four cabins have also just been added as well.
It first hit the market in July and with the onsite residence included in the sale, Ms Crouch said it’s great opportunity for someone looking to get their foot in the door of the sector.
“At $530,000 for a long lease, this is a really good entry-level opportunity for someone wanting to get into the industry,” she said.
“Plus it comes with a really nice three-bedroom manager’s residence with a private pool – it’s a strong business plus home combination.” END
