Green Gables Warburton: Boutique property in La La Avenue for sale

Green Gables, a boutique accommodation and conference centre in Warburton, has hit the market.

Green Gables, at 16 La La Ave Warburton, has been listed for sale with an asking price of $3.2m. 

“Opportunities to secure a freehold property like Green Gables, located in the majestic wilderness of the Yarra Ranges and transform it into something incredible come up once in a lifetime,” the real estate listing said.

“There has been a long history of successful trading from this property which is predominantly a conference centre with accommodation.”

Set on 2.4ha, future buyers could transform the site into a wellness or eco-retreat, or use it for weddings, conferences, a restaurant, cafe, or luxury getaway venue, according to selling agent Jacqueline Featherby from ResortBrokers.

“It has a lot of potential and in the right hands with the right operator it would be a great asset,” Ms Featherby said.

“It has a massive lounge and dining area, conference rooms, a commercial kitchen, and (accommodation) rooms as well.

“It would be perfect for someone who is ready to take on a project and operate it successfully.

“It’s potentially a lucrative asset for somebody who understands the accommodation industry and there’s certainly demand for (accommodation) in the region as well.

“So I’m just a firm believer that given the love someone is going to put into it, it certainly will be lucrative.

“It’s on six acres of beautiful property with an enormous amount of potential upside.

“But what we see in the future for this property – it could really suit a wellness retreat, or eco retreat, but it definitely could cater to purely focusing on weddings and conferences and events as well.”

Green Gables is not the only Yarra Ranges venue to recently hit the market, with The Loft in the Mill in Olinda also listed for sale earlier this year.

That property is now listed as sold on the Fletchers real estate website.

And new owners also recently bought The Healesville Hotel. END
