Tristan Mears

Tristan proudly represents ResortBrokers across Central West NSW.

Based in Orange, Tristan covers this vast region which stretches west from the Blue Mountains, taking in major cities such as Bathurst, Dubbo, Mudgee, Parkes, Cowra and Lithgow.

It’s an area he knows extremely well. Tristan is born and bred Central West NSW, having grown up in Gulgong, about 20 minutes’ drive north of Mudgee. His family and community connections in the region run deep.

Prior to serving ResortBrokers’ clients in the Central West, Tristan looked after Northwest VIC and Southwest NSW where he had great success. He is a natural relationship builder and knows firsthand the rewards and pressure of running a business.

For two and a half years before joining ResortBrokers in 2025, Tristan operated his own executive recruitment agency specialising in financial planning and wealth management.

Through hard work and fostering relationships, Tristan grew the net profit of his agency to $200,000 within its first 12 months. In the second year, he boosted profits by a further 180%.

“We had great relationships with candidates we placed in different roles. We’d get multiple referrals on both sides of the recruitment process that enabled us to build our business.”

Tristan takes the same approach to serving his clients in Central West NSW, an area that includes approximately 300 accommodation businesses.

“Building genuine trust by offering great service is what I’m all about,” says Tristan. “I don’t have a ‘sales approach.’ I’d rather forge strong relationships with people and build those relationships over time. I’m more inclined to ask, ‘What does this person want to achieve? How can I help them get there?’ If you build relationships and trust, then sales follow naturally as a biproduct.”
